About
KUBA
MISSION
STATEMENT:
To provide leadership, foster trade and commerce and interface actively with
the local government in efforts to promote Uptown Kingston as a viable place
to visit, work and live. KUBA (Kingston Uptown Business Association) is a wholly
voluntary, not-for-profit organization.
WHO BELONGS to KUBA?
Retailers, Professionals, Property Owners, Service Businesses, Local Residents
and anyone interested in maintaining and enhancing the historic and economic
vitality of Uptown Kingston.
WHAT DOES KUBA DO?
KUBA runs a variety of festivals throughout the year and hosts other special
events to promote the area and attract new customers, tourists, and businesses
to the Uptown Kingston area.
KUBA works actively with both city and county government as an advocate for
the local business community on issues as diverse and critical as marketing
and promotion of the area (and the city in general), tourism, parking, refuse
handling, and economic development, plus many other issues confronting the
area.
KUBA
seeks to beautify the Uptown area through the maintenance of
local parks and seasonal floral plantings, as well as encouraging
property and business owners to maintain their individual properties.
KUBA actively markets and promotes the area through various media to attract
a broader customer/client base. KUBA also works on soliciting new businesses
to the area. A coordinated marketing plan is part of a city wide effort to
promote and attract customers, tourists, and business to the city of Kingston.
WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN?
By joining the Kingston Uptown Business Association, you will have a direct
and active roll in the economic development of the Uptown community. You
will join other businesses for higher impact advertising campaigns and promotions.
The opportunity to attract new customers/clients exists through the interaction
with other individuals and businesses at KUBA events and meetings. By joining
KUBA, you become part of a vital organization of volunteers who work hard
to make a difference in the Uptown community.
